The gilded age allowed america to grow rapidly in industrialization and economic wealth, as well as urbanization and the construction of the transcontinental railroad (steel, oil, etc). the progressive era developed higher social, constitutional, and political levels (big business, monopolies, trusts, political machines). hope this helped!
