Answer:

x = 22

y = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN :-

 • AB ⊥ CF
 • ∠ABE = (4y + 2)°
 • ∠FBE = (3x - 2)°
 • ∠FBD = (5x + 6)°

TO FIND :-

 • The value of x & y

GENERAL CONCEPT TO BE USED IN THIS QUESTION :-

 • Complementary angles :- Two angles are said to be complementary if sum of measure of both angles is equal to 90°.
 • Linear Pair :- Two angles are said to be a linear pair if both the angles lie on a straight line & sum of both angles is equal to 180°.

SOLUTION :-

In the figure given in the question , ∠FBE & ∠FBD are linear pair.

⇒ (3x - 2)° + (5x + 6)° = 180°

⇒ 8x + 4 = 180

⇒ 8x = 176

⇒ x = 22°

Also , AB⊥CF.

⇒ ∠ABE & ∠FBE are complementary angles.

⇒ (4y + 2)° + (3x - 2)° = 90°

⇒ 4y + (3×22) = 90 [∵ Putting x = 23]

⇒ 4y + 66 = 90

⇒ 4y = 24

⇒ y = 6

The table shows the number of gallons of water, 9.
KIM [24]

Answer:

G = 0.75s

Step-by-step explanation:

First find the unit rate: How many gallons of water can be pumped in 1 second. This means you just have to divide by however many seconds it is being pumped. I'm using 12 and 9. 9/12 = 0.75. This means that in 1 second 0.75 or 3/4 of a gallon will be pumped. Therefore:

G = 0.75s

What is the length of BC in the right triangle below?
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

20

Step-by-step explanation:

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

12^2 + 16^2 = c^2

144 + 256 = c^2

400 = c^2

20 = c

The length of BC = 20
