The answers are the following:

The Petition of Right aimed to prevent the monarch from (2) establishing martial* law in peacetime, (3) imprisoning people without just cause and (4) raising taxes without Parliament approval

The Petition of Right, sent by the English Parliament to King Charles I in 1628, was a statement of civil liberties, in which various complaints of breaches of the law by the king were presented too. The petition inquired recognition of four principles: the raising taxes should be approved only by the Parliament, no imprisonment should be done without cause, no quartering of soldiers on subjects, and no martial law could be established in peacetime.

*The question states "marshal law", however, based on the context, I assume you actually wanted to write "martial law".

In what way did the 1862 Homestead Act help pull immigrants to the United States?
AnnyKZ [126]

The way that the 1862 Homestead Act helped pull immigrants to the United States is by providing immigrants with inexpensive farmland.

Many immigrants were drawn to the fact that they could own their own farmland, and not have to pay a lot for them. This is why a lot of these immigrants moved to the US.
