What were the effects of the communication revolution?

The American communication revolution went through a number of stages before arriving at its current level. An important component that would lead to the realization of the transcontinental dream was the revolution in transportation and communication. As an illustration, from 1800 to 1860, there were 28498 more post offices than there were in 1800. In order to access new offices, numerous roads were built. The road network grew from 20,817 to 240,594 miles between 1800 and 1860 as a result. A significant factor in the development of the transportation system was the postal. Western immigrants communicated with their eastern counterparts via the postal system.
