This question is funny because the total he has to walk from school back home is 12 MILES. The question tries to confuse you by using the term “two-thirds”. Here is my point: He only had to walk a total of twelve miles. Why would the answer be 16, 18, and 24 miles when he only has to walk 12??? This is just common sense and I wouldn’t overthink the question. I hope I helped! Glad I caught this. Have a great night.

The answer is 8

You could draw a picture:

2 of these groups is equal to 8

What is 3% of $30.00?
CaHeK987 [17]
% means out of 100 so 1%=1/100

so 3%=3/100
$30.00=3000 cents
so you multiply 3/100 by 3000 =(3*3000)/100
you can cross out two zeros at the bottom and on the top and get
(3*30)/1 or 90/1 or 90 cents

How do you find the radius of a cylinder when you only know the surface area?
Paha777 [63]

The surface area of a cylinder with circular bases of radius r and height h is equal to the sum of the areas of the two circular faces and the area of the rectangular lateral surface:

A = 2πr² + 2πrh

If you know the height h, then you can solve the quadratic equation for r.
