A building is 3 ft from a 9-fence that surrounds the property. A worker wants to wash a window in the building 14 ft from the gr
kvv77 [185]
The height of the fence is irrelevant. The bottom of the ladder is 3+8 = 11 feet from the building. The window is 14ft above the ground:
sqrt(14^2+11^2) = length of your ladder.

Find all the rational zeroes of the function.
x3 - 12x2 + 41x - 42
user100 [1]
Rational Roots Theorem states if a polynomial P (x) has rational roots then p/q is a root where p is a multiple of a0 and q of an. Moreover this polynomial has 3 roots, at most 3 which are positive and none of which are negative. Finding a root x0, you can use (x-x0) and long division to factor P (x) and find the other roots. Possible rational roots +/- {1,2,3,6,7,14,21}.
Namely 2,3,7 are the roots so it factors

Solve for x.
2x + 28
24+x
Mrac [35]
It's 8+2x+28 =24x
It becomes 2x+36=24x
Then subtract 2x from both sides you get 36=22x
Then divide both sides by 22 and you'll get 1.64 which is the answer.
