Hello :
let : x  the lenght    y : the widith
the perimeter is ; 2(x+y) and the area is : xy
so the system : 2(x+y) =24
                            xy  = 35
  x+y = 12.....(1)
xy = 35  ...(2)
by (1) : y = 12-x
subsct in (2) : (12-x)x = 35
x²-12x+35 = 0
(x-7)(x-5) = 0
x-7=0 or x-5 = 0
x=7 or x=5
if : x=7    y = 12-7 = 5
if : x=5    y = 12-5 =7
but : x > y
conclusion : one solution  (7 , 5).

The dimensions are 7 and 5 inches.

Y 65° 25
can someone solve this ?
n200080 [17]
Answer: a=25

Explanation: I am assuming you are looking for “a” so if you heard the method of 45, 45, 90 it helps you solve it. So by the 45 being across from 25 makes the 45 across a 25 as well, hope this was what you were looking for…

1. The radioisotope Iodine-123 is used in thyroid therapy. The half-life of this isotope is 13.27 hours.
Mandarinka [93]
1. Answer: D. A = 100 (1/2)^t/13.27

Exponent equation formula would be an= a0( 1+r)^t
In this question, the radio isotopes will become half of its weight after the half-life. So, the ratio would be -0.5 (r= -0.5)
The halftime is 13.27 hours, so the time will be divided by that number. The result would look like this:
an= a0( 1+r)^t
an= a0( 1-0.5)^t/13.27
an= a0( 1/2)^t/13.27

2. Answer: x= 74°

The ladder and the building will make a right triangle with the ladder as the hypotenuse.
The foot of the ladder is 2 feet from the building, so the adjacent side is 2ft.
It reaches a point 7 feet high on the building, so the opposite side is 7ft
You can find the angle by using the tan equation

tan x= opposite / adjacent
tan x= 7/2= 3.5
x= 74°
