Answer:

Find the explanation below.

Explanation:

1. The picture of Sunny California which captured the interest and admiration of Edwin and his mother must have played a vital role in convincing Edwin's mum to support her husband's decision to move to California.

2. The story begins by describing the harsh living condition of the Edwin family caused by the dust and drought. When Edwin's father came home, he came with little money that could carry the family for just a month. Even though Ma Edwin initially rejected the idea of moving to California, the picture of Sunny California with a prosperous orange grove must have imprinted in her heart the idea that the living condition in California would be much better than the one they were presently experiencing. All these events in the story support the inference that the picture of sunny California inspired hope in the family that the living condition in California would be better.

gayaneshka [121]
The mood that these words help create is one of despair and difficulty. Clearly the narrator is struggling, he actually uses the words "difficult" and "struggling" clearly within his paragraph. Other words that contribute to this mood of despair are "fear", "faint", and "hungry". A person usually only feels these things and discusses them when they are in a place that is dangerous and that they have no real hope of getting out of.
