The sum of 7 and three times a number is at least 13

Answer:

7 + 3x ≥ 13

Step-by-step explanation:

The best way to write this is to truly understand what each of the terms mean. The sum means that multiple terms are added together, which means that 7 and 3 times a number will be added together.

Next, the term three times a number just means 3x. So as of now, we have 7 and 3x being added together.

Finally, the term at least 13 means that the 7 + 3x is greater than or equal to 13. Once everything is put together, you get a final inequality of 7 + 3x ≥ 13.

Graph h(x)=0.5(x+2)^2 -4 by following these steps:
Goshia [24]

Answer:

Step 1: Identify a, h, and k.

a=0.5, h= -2, k= -4

Step 3: The axis of symmetry is the line x= -2

Step 4: h(-4)= -2 h(-6)= 4

The graph should have points plotted at (-6, 4), (-4, -2), (-2, -4), (0, -2), and (2, 4)

Answer:

d =13 cm

r = 6.5 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The diameter is the distance across the circle, going through the center

d = 13 cm

The radius is 1/2 of the diameter

r = d/2 = 13/2 = 6.5 cm

I've been having problems with this for a while...
Rina8888 [55]
Like all problems that involve images within the question, we should definitely try to draw this out. In the picture above, I have done this.

Now, we can see that this is just a simple proportion problem. For every 2.5 cm of height of the flower, we are 2 cm from the opening, or aperture. For every 20 cm of height, how far are we? We can set up the problem like this:

20 ............2.5
-------- = ---------
...x ............. 2

where x is the unknown distance to the aperture from the flower. Now, we just need to get x by itself. A typical way of solving something like this is by doing "butterfly multiplication" which is really just a shortcut haha. Anyway, I can rewrite that equation ^ as:

20×2 = 2.5 × x

Then, to solve for x, we would divide both sides by 2.5. (If you don't know why that is, please let me know and I'll elaborate).

We would then have:

20×2
------- = x
2.5

Which then simplifies to:

x = 16

Try using the same logic for your second question, and if you get stuck, I'd be happy to help! please let me know if any of this doesn't make sense. :)
