Elena is buying cups and plates for her party. Cups are sold in packs of 8 and plates are sold in packs of 6. She wants to have

the same number of plates and cups.
Find the multiples of plates and cups. She will not have more than 80 guests at her party!

What is the LCM? (The number of people at the party!)

Answer:

For 80 people, Elena would need

14 packs of plates and 10 packs of cups

She would have at least 80 of each.

I am not completely sure of this, sorry if wrong.

Step-by-step explanation:

80 people

8 cups per pack

6 plates per pack

8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80

6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72, 78, 84

LCM (least common multiple) = 24

2sec^2x - secx - 1 = 0
Ivenika [448]
What are you trying to do here?
Solve the graph, or make it appear as something else?

First, we're going to take one sec (x) out so that we get:
sec (x) (2sec (x) -1 -1) = 0

sec (x) (2sec (x) -2) = 0

Then we're going to separate the two to find the zeros of each because anything time 0 is zero.

sec(x) = 0

2sec (x) - 2 = 0

Now, let's simplify the second one as the first one is already.

Add 2 to both sides:

2sec (x) = 2

Divide by 3 on both sides:

sec (x) = 1

I forgot my unit circle, so you'd have to do that by yourself. Hopefully, I helped a bit though!

If you shift the linear parent function, f(x) = x, down 6 units, what is the equation of the new function?
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

f(x)=x-6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Parent function : f(x)=x

To Find : If you shift the linear parent function, f(x) = x, down 6 units, what is the equation of the new function?

Solution:

Parent function : f(x)=x

Shift the given function down by 6 units.

Rule : The graph f(x) shifts down by b units

So, f(x)→f(x)-b

So, Shift the given function down by 6 units.

So, f(x)→f(x)-6

f(x)=x

So, x→x-6

So, the new function is f(x)=x-6
