Buck is the main sled dog in the novel "The Call of the Wild", written by John London and published in 1903. The story is located in Yukon, Canada.
Buck is a dog -part Scottish. part St. Bernard- and was stolen from his home in California and sent to Alaska to work as a sled dog.

Another key character in the story is John Thorton, who is the second owner of the dog and establish a great relationship because he treated as a pet, not only as an animal.
Among the conflicts and different perspectives in the novel, the following stand out. Buck and his kidnapper, Manuel; Buck and Perrault, the sled driver, and with Charles, Hal, and Mercedes, other drivers whose major problem was the abuse on the burden of work.
