Average speed = $\frac{Change in distance }{change in time}$

Average speed is nothing but the slope

Now we find slope from the given graph

The graph starts at (0,0)

The bile reaches 14miles in 1 hour (1, 14)

We got two point (0,0) and (1,14)

Slope = $\frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2-x_1}$= $\frac{14 - 0}{1-0}$

= $\frac{14}{1}$ = 14

So Average speed = 14 mph
