Graph the system of linear inequalities, please explain the process in solving this problem so I know how to do ones similar to
Ierofanga [76]

Graph the system of linear inequalities

x + y > 5

- x - y < -5

First we graph x + y >5

Step 1: replace > symbol by = sign

x + y =5

step 2 : Solve the equation for y

x + y =5 (subtract x from both sides)

y = 5 - x

step 3: Now we make a table . plug in some number for x  and find out y

x -----> y

-1 -----> 6   ( y=5-x => y=5-(-1)= 6)

0 -----> 5   ( y=5-x => y=5-(0)= 5)

1 -----> 4   ( y=5-x => y=5-(1)= 4)

Step 4:  we graph the table.

step 5: Shade the region that satisfies our inequality

x + y > 5. Greater than symbol implies that we shade the graph to the right

Graphing second inequality - x - y < -5

All terms have negative sign . so divide all the terms by -1. When we divide an inequality by -1 its sign changes

- x - y < -5 becomes x + y > 5

Follow the same steps to graph this inequality

After dividing the second equation  by -1 , we got the same as the first equation.

So we will get the same graph

Both graphs overlaps

The graph of first and second inequality overlaps

The graph is attached below

In professor Johnson's literature class there are 267 students. At a random check Prof.Johnson notices that 22 students among 59
s2008m [1.1K]

We have a class of a total of 267 students.

The professor has a sample of 59 students, where 22 of them did not complete their essays.

This equals a proportion of:

p=\frac{22}{59}\approx0.373

If this sample is representative of the class, we can use this proportion to estimate how many students did not complete the essay.

To do that we multiply the total number of students by the proportion we have just calculated:

X=N\cdot p=267\cdot0.373\approx99.59\approx100

Answer: it can be estimated that approximately 100 students did not finish their essay.

A rectangular garden is fenced on all sides with 258 feet of fencing. The garden is 7 feet
Bumek [7]

Answer:

L = w + 8

P = 2L + 2w

256 = 2 (ancho + 8) + 2w

256 = 2 vías + 16 + 2 vías

256 = 4 semanas + 16

240 = 4w

w = 60

La longitud es 60 + 8 = 68

el ancho es 60
