A protest is an organized event in which people join

to show that they don't approve of something.

They can help bring attention to issues that need to be addressed

and can be a positive way to make some sort of change happen.

The main purpose people take part in them is because they want change.

Their goal is to make others have a different perspective

on an issue which can sometimes lead to not peaceful protests.
