Answer:

This question is incomplete, the complete question is:

Fermentation is carried out regularly, and not only during oxygen emergencies, by what organisms?

A) most animals

B) many fungi and bacteria

C) plants, during the night time

D) all organisms, all of the time

The Correct answer is B (Many fungi and bacteria)

Explanation:

All living organisms need energy for their life processes, although different ways are employed by different organisms. Most living organisms use oxygen to make ATP from glucose. However, many living things can also make ATP without oxygen.

Organisms like plants, fungi and some bacteria undergo aerobic respiration in the presence of oxygen but can use anaerobic respiration when oxygen is in short supply. However, certain bacteria and fungi (yeast) employ only anaerobic respiration. They may not even survive in aerobic conditions i.e. they are strictly anaerobic organisms. One important way of making ATP without oxygen is called FERMENTATION.

Fermentation is the metabolic process by which organic molecules (glucose) are converted into acids, gases, or alcohol in the absence of oxygen. Fermentation is of two types; Lactic acid fermentation (pyruvate to lactic acid) and Alcoholic fermentation (pyruvate to alcohol and CO2). NAD+ is generated in both process to facilitate the release of ATP.

Fermentation only yields a net of 2 ATP per glucose molecule (through glycolysis) unlike aerobic respiration, which yields as many as 32 molecules of ATP per glucose molecule using oxidative phosphorylation.

The given image is showing the interaction of the enzyme and its substrate.

In the first part of the image, the enzyme and substrate are not bind together. They are present in close proximity. The enzyme shown in the picture have a site for the attachment of the substrates.

In the next picture, the interaction of the enzyme and the substrate has occurred, which resulted in the formation of the enzyme substrate complex. Hence, the given picture shows the interaction of an enzyme with the substrates.

7. What is the kinetic energy of a 3-kilogram ball that is rolling at 2 meters per second?
nydimaria [60]
Kinetic energy = 0.5*M*V^2

 Q7-

0.5*3*(2^2)= 6J

Q8a-

0.5*2*(2^2)= 4J
0.5*4*(3^2)=18J
the second ball has more kinetic energy.

Q8b-

at the max height, all the kinetic energy is converted to potential energy,

gravitational potential energy is = M*g*h

that theory would apply if you wanted to work out the maximum height achieved if the balls were thrown upward by rearranging. But, we are simply working out which ball will have more potential energy so:

First ball:
2kg*9.81(g)*10m = 196.2J

Second ball
4kg*9.81*10m= 392.4J

The second ball has more potential energy

Explain how scientists use geologic time to determine the age of landforms.
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

Researchers initially built up the geologic time scale by considering rock layers and record fossils around the world. With this data, researchers put in Earth's stone layers in request by relative age. Afterward, radioactive dating decided the supreme age of the divisions in the geologic time scale.
