Answer:

\frac{y^{2} }{81} -\frac{x^{2} }{40} }=1 is standard equation of hyperbola with vertices at (0, ±9) and foci at (0, ±11).

Step-by-step explanation:

We have given the vertices at (0, ±9) and foci at (0, ±11).

Let (0,±a)  = (0,±9) and (0,±c)  = (0,±11)

The standard equation of parabola is:

\frac{y^{2} }{a^{2} } -\frac{x^{2} }{b^{2} }=1

From statement, a  = 9

c² = a²+b²

(11)²  = (9)²+b²

121-81  = b²

40  = b²

Putting the value of a² and b² in standard equation of parabola, we have

\frac{y^{2} }{81} -\frac{x^{2} }{40} }=1 which is the answer.

Anvisha [2.4K]

Answer:

y=-4/3+2

Step-by-step explanation:

Sin the slope is going up to the left we can already infer that it is going to be a negative. Still we do the equation y2-y1/x2-x1. In this case 0 is x1 and 2 is y1, 3 is x2, and -2 is y2. Once inserted into the equation you get -2-2/3-0 which equals -4/3 and the y intercept is 2 since thats the point shown were it intercepts the y-axis

Some people say Mauna Kea is a taller mountain than Mt. Everest, because its total under sea and above sea level height is
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer:

Mauna Kea has from the base that is to say the deepest 10 km of height that is to say 10,000 m which is equivalent to being higher than Mount Everest.jj

Step-by-step explanation:

 The main reason why we could say that Mauna Kea is the highest mountain, even surpassing Mount Everest, is because of its altitude if we compare them we see the difference; for example Mauna Kea from its base that is to say from the deepest the ocean measures 10,000 m of altitude, on the other hand the Mount Everest has an altitude of 8848 meters (29,029 ft) above sea level, that is to say from its base it measures 8848 m altitude.
