Washington set up the first U.S. Cabinet as a group of individuals he trusted to give him advice and interact with his Presidency.

The initial group included Attorney General Edmund Randolph, Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of War Henry Knox, and Secretary of Treasury Alexander Hamilton.

It was passed on August 7, 1964, by the United States Congress after an alleged attack on two U.S. naval destroyers stationed off the coast of Vietnam. The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution effectively launched America’s full-scale involvement in the Vietnam War.  The results are pretty simple I suppose; the United States lost the Vietnam War and Vietnam was united under a communist government.</span>
