Help please!! worth 19 points :)
MariettaO [177]

Remark

Before you do anything else, read what she did. She opened the refrigerator door slightly. What would you expect to happen especially on a summer day?

Would you expect the temperature to go up? Warm air is heating up the refrigerator in side and the graph shows the temperature increasing. Is it a straight line or is it something else? It looks like it is increasing to start with and it is  non linear.

Now she closes the door and refrigerator begins to cool down. The trip down is a straight line (linear). When that happens, you get your answer for this part of the graph, down and linear.

So the complete answer is door open, temperature rises and is non linear.

The door closes and the temperature falls and the line of the graph is linear.

Identify the range of the function shown in the graph
sladkih [1.3K]
The correct answer is:  [A]:  " -5 ≤ y <span>≤ 5 " .
_________________________________________________
The "range" refers to the the values of a function that encompass the "y-axis" of the [graphed] function.

By looking at the graph provided in the image attached, we see that for "y" values (when "y" is "positive", or "greater than "0";  the highest value for "y" is "5"; yet "y" never "exceeds "5".  We see that for "y" values  (when y is "negative", or "less than "0", the lowest values for "y" is "-5"; yet "y" never goes "lower than "-5".

However, "y" values are aways within, and encompassing, all "y" values between and including: "y = -5" and "y = 5"  .

As such, Answer choice:  </span>[A]:  " -5 ≤ y ≤ 5 " ;  is correct.
