A healthcare provider monitors the number of CAT scans performed each month in each of its clinics. The most recent year of data

for a particular clinic follows (the reported variable is the number of CAT scans each month expressed as the number of CAT scans per thousand members of the health plan): 2.31 2.09 2.36 1.95 1.98 2.25 2.16 2.07 1.88 1.94 1.97 2.02 (a) Find a 95% two-sided confidence interval on the mean number of CAT scans performed each month at this clinic. (b) Historically, the mean number of scans performed by all clinics in the system has been 1.95. Is there any evidence that this particular clinic performs more CAT scans on overage than the overall system average?

Answer:

a) 95% two-sided confidence interval on the mean number of CAT scans is

between 1.98 and 2.18

b) Yes. In 95% confidence, the particular clinic outperform than the overall system average.

Step-by-step explanation:

(a)

Confidence interval can be calculated as M±ME where

 • M is the mean monthly CAT scans (2.08)
 • ME is the margin of error

and margin of error (ME) around the mean can be found using the formula

ME=\frac{t*s}{\sqrt{N} } where

 • t is the corresponding statistic in the 95% confidence level (2.2)
 • s is the standard deviation of the sample (0.15)
 • N is the sample size (12)

Using the numbers ME=\frac{2.2*0.15}{\sqrt{12} } ≈ 0.095

Confidence interval is then 2.08±0.095

(b) since the 95%confidence interval is higher than 1.95, the clinic outperforms.

Fofino [41]

Answer:

50 Samples

Step-by-step explanation:

If there are 10 cups and each cup is separated into 5th, then there would be 5 parts for each cup. If there is five parts for each cup and you have 10 cups then you would just multiply 10 by 5, which equals 50 samples.

Help please like can u explain instead of just giving me the answer
natulia [17]

Answer:

Thanks for asking for the explanation, everyone wants just the answer, You want to know how to solve the problem , great. :)

Step-by-step explanation:

Our strategy and one you can use on any triangle problem.

the interior angles add to 180° . Remembering that, seems to me, that very often is the "key" to figuring out triangle problems.

keeping that in mind, we know to add up all the inside angles to 180

180= A + B + C

from this particular triangle then, we have

A = 6X

B = 90 ( b/c that's what the small red square is telling us, it's a 90 angle )

C = 5x - 2

put that all together

180 = 6x + 90 +5x - 2

now use your algebra skills to solve for X ( and to be fair, this is where lots of people struggle, the algebra skills are not so good )

so I'll just go slow

put like terms together

180 = 11x + 88 ( I just added the terms with an x, and the constant terms )

move the 88 over to the other side by subtracting

92 = 11x

divide both sides by 11

92 / 11 = x

8.3636 = x

now that we know x, plug it into the expression for the angle next to the y angle in the picture

5x - 2

5(8.3636) - 2

39.8181

then y is the other part of another 180 pair of angles sooo use that again

180 = 39.8181 + y

solve for y

140.1818 = y

Hope this helps, ask any questions you may have, :)
