Answer:

A. p(x) = (-1/10)x + 450x

B. 506,250

C. $280

Explanation:

(a) Calculation to Find the demand function

Let assume that the demand Q(p) is the LINEAR function of the price

Q(350) = 1000

dQ/dp = -100/10 = -10

Point-slope form :

Q-1000 = -10(p-350)

Q-1000 = -10p + 3500

Q= -10p+(3500+1000)

Q = -10p + 4500

Hence,

Q(p) = -10p +4500

The inverse is:

(Q-4500)/-10 = p

(-1/10)Q + 450 = p

Hence, p(x) = (-1/10)x + 450 where Q=x

Therefore the the demand function will be p(x) = (-1/10)x + 450x

(b) Calculation for How large a rebate should the company offer the buyer in order to maximize its revenue

Revenue = Price * Qauntity sold

R(p) = p*Q(p)

Revenue = p * (-10p + 4500)

Revenue= -10p^2 + 4500p

let Maximize:

0 = dR/dp = -20p + 4500

-4500 = -20p

p=-4500/-20

p = 450/2 = 225

Hence, Max. revenue

-10 (225)^2 + 4500 *225

= -506,250 + 1,012,500

= 506,250

Therefore How large a rebate should the company offer the buyer in order to maximize its revenue will be 506,250

(c) Calculation for how should the manufacturer set the size of the rebate in order to maximize its profit

Let C(x) represent cost to produce x television sets

Let C(Q(p)) represent cost to produce the demanded quantity

C(q(p)) = 61,000 + 110*Q(p)

C(q(p)) = 61,000 + 110* (-10p +4500)

C(q(p)) = 61,000 + -1,100p + 495,000

C(q(p)) = 556,000 - 1,100p

let calculate the profit using this formula

Profit = Revenue - Cost

Let plug in the formula

P(p) = -10p^2 + 4,500p - ( 556,000 - 1,100p)

P(p) = -10p^2 + 4,500p -556,000 + 1,100p

P(p) = -10p^2 + 5,600p - 556,000

Maximizing:

0=dP/dp = -20p + 5,600

Hence, maximizing profit occurs at price p=-5,600/-20 = $280

Therefore how should the manufacturer set the size of the rebate in order to maximize its profit will be $280

uppose you observe the following exchange rates: €1 = $1.50; £1 = $2.00. Calculate the euro-pound exchange rate. A. €1.25 = £1.0
choli [55]

Answer:

D. €1.3333 = £1.00

Explanation:

Suppose you observe the following exchange rates: €1 = $1.50; £1 = $2.00.

That implies that the value of €1 is equivalent to 1.50/2.00 the value of £1, since €1 = $1.50; £1 = $2.00

Therefore the value of €1 = £0.75

Hence the value of  £1 = €1 / £0.75 = €1.3333

Nikola Motors has a quick ratio of 2.00; $38,250 in cash; $21,250 in accounts receivable; some inventory; total current assets o
Margarita [4]

Answe2.55 times

Explanation:

Current assets represent the resources of short-term nature which a business expects to convert back to cash between a year. They include inventory, receivables.

Inventory turnover is the average number of days it takes a Nikola Motors to sell its its stock and replenish it. This can be determined by either working it out in number of times the stock is sold and replenished or the length of days its takes to do same.

The formula for both are given below:

Inventory turnover( no of times) = Cost of goods sold / average inventory

                                                <em>    = x number of times</em>

Inventory days = (Average inventory/ Cost of goods sold) *365 days

                           <em> = number of days</em>

<em>Note: The inventory figure was not given in the question, but we can work it out;</em>

Current assets= cash + inventory + receivables

85,000 = 38,250 + 21,250 + y                           <em>Lets "y "demote inventory</em>

y = 85,000 - 38250 - 21, 250

y= 25,500

<em />

<em>Also we need to work out cost of sold;</em>

Cost of goods sold = 65% × 100,000

                                = 65,000

<em>Now we can work out the inventory turnover;</em>

Inventory turnover =  65,000/25,500

<em>                             </em>  =  2.55 times

Nikola Motors is seling and replacing its inventory 2.55 times

Kendra has a babysitting business that she earns $6 per hour she babysits. She already has $50. She wants to earn enough to buy
daser333 [38]

Answer:

50 hours

Explanation:

Let x represents the number of hours that Kendra needs to work

She gets $6 for one hour so for x hours

6x

She already have $50 so add it

6x + 50

She wants to have a total of $350 so equation becomes

6x + 50 = 350

Now lets solve this equation

6x = 350 - 50

6x = 300

x = 300/6

x = 50 hours

So Kendra have to babysit for 50 hours so that she can buy a new phone for $350
