Restriction enzyme is use to cut DNA into smaller fragments by preventing the replication of the phage DNA .

Restriction enzyme is use when there is infection or foreign materials that intrude into a bacterium,the bacterium uses it to defend itself against infections that might be cause by viruses, pathogens e.t.c.

Bacteria genome can be edited using CRISPR method. It is done with recombineering, which is a technique that uses phage recombination method to enhance homologous recombination of DNA fragments.
