What issue undermines people's health the most and what steps should be taken to change it?
Neko [114]

I believe the issue is unnecessary consumption of sugar.

The amount of sugar that average people consume everyday could contribute to   around 300-600 of their caloric intake each day, which would increase the risk of developing diabetes. The steps that should be taken to deal with this issue is to increase people's awareness about this issue through campaigns or advertising and providing substitution for this product.

1.) What ideas did John Locke write about in his book An Essay Concerning Human<br> Understanding?
Leni [432]

John Locke devoted much of his time in writing philosophy and political thoughts and ideologies. He insisted that human mind is a blank slate which gains knowledge from the information provided by the five senses.

Explanation:

he puts firth that simple ideas are created from the experiences and complex ideas created in mind which converts the simple ideas into complex. he also states that primary qualities of an object is fixed and does not subject to change whereas the secondary qualities are subjected to change because it depends largely on one's perception

In his book an essay concerning human understanding he states that there exist some ideas which are innate and are accompanied from the birth. Therefore such innate ideas can be understood as universal truths. He says that such innate ideas cannot be obtained from experience or perception and such innate ideas are set by the supreme creator.

Identify two physiological reactions that Rachel could have used to operationalize the dependent variable
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Hello. You did not present the experiment to which this question refers, which makes it impossible for me to give you an answer. However, when searching for your question on the internet, I was able to find another question exactly the same as yours, which showed that Rachel was studying the causes and consequences of treating mental illness in patients with generalized anxiety disorder. In this experiment, she gave each participant an untested drug, a placebo and a nocebo and assessed how these substances altered the arousal of the sympathetic nervous system one week before and one week after the study.

If that is the case with her question, the two reactions that Rachel could use to operate the dependent variable would be placebo and nocebo.

We can reach this conclusion because both the nocebo and the placebo do not generate real effects in the participants, but it causes psychological effects, imagined by the patient, against the real medicine. In this case, both the placebo and the nocebo are capable of provoking pisological effects in the excitation of the sympathetic nervous system of the patients. Within an experiment, the variable that has the power to provoke something is the independent variable and it is this variable that allows the researcher to operate the dependent variable. In this case, we can consider that the nocebo and the placebo are the independent variables that can manipulate the dependent variable, which is the sympathetic nervous system excitation.

Michelle notices her brother Mark eating a second piece of chocolate from a box of candy. Because he rarely eats candy of any ki
german

Answer:

Distinctiveness.

Explanation:

As the exercise exemplifies, Michelle is most likely relying on distinctiveness information in order to explain her brother's behavior. This is due to the fact that distinctiveness focuses on what makes something different or unique, distinct from other things. If Mark generally does not like chocolate, it is fair to assume that if he is eating one it's because it's really tasty. Therefore, even if it's chocolate (something he would not eat) it has to be different from other types of chocolate he has eaten before.
