Americans in the 1890's were conscious of the great power of American industry, wealth, inventions, natural resources and wanted to take their place among the great powers of the world. They were aware of all the great progress America had made in every field.

The people of the middle class in Latin America were very important part of the society for the economic development and for stability on the political grounds.
The people of this class were known for saving more, accumulating capital therefore contributing to the investment of the country.
This class also contributes to the productivity of goods and services which are manufactured in the country and they considered education as a very important factor for the development of the personality of the humans.
