Nativism is the belief that the needs of the original inhabitants of a country are more important than those of immigrants, leading to immigration restrictions. The KKK is a white supremacist group, with a dark history of murder and racism. However, the modern KKK, while still fundamentally white supremacist and racist, is no longer violent. The "red scare" was a mostly political tool, where communism would be portrayed as a terrifying wave spreading through the world, and capitalist countries would use this to cement a capitalist society.
