I would release this animal in a tundra kind of weather, like in Russia, for instance- If the animal can resist cold temperatures and eats fish, this could be a bear or a seal. Both animals can very well live in this new environment for them.

THe Artic, in the North Pole, is a classic example of tundra weather, a place where temperatures can be extremely cold.
