In describing the intricacies of the human brain, Dr. Jay Giedd talked about the brain's special ability to adapt to new behaviors as well as to multitask. Many of our ancestors lived and died without ever reading a book but humans alive today have adapted well to reading. So has the brain also adapted well to all the flood of information in our day.

The brain learns through examples and it does a good job at this. This is the more reason parents should endeavor to display good examples in the presence of their children.
