Rewrite the following sentences or phrases on a separate sheet of paper to make them more direct, more readable, or less wordy.

Answer:

"Strike matches on rough surface found on the outside of the box. Do not touch flame, the head of the match, and please keep away from children"

Explanation:

The first two sentences feel like common sense, so I would not include them. The middle sentence is descriptive and I would keep it. The last three sentences can be combined to make the sentence less wordy and read easier. Hope that helps somewhat!

Read the excerpt from “The Pasture” by Robert Frost. What is the meter?
nekit [7.7K]

The correct answer is C: Iambic Pentameter

Iambic Pentameter is a type of metric line used in traditional English poetry and verse drama. "Pentameter" indicates a line of five "feet".

The foot has an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable. This pattern repeats five times in each line, as we can see below:

U: unstressed

S: stressed

U---S----U---S----U----S------U----S-----U------S

I'm go | ing out | to clean | the pas | ture spring;

U---S---U---S-----U----S----U----S---------U---S
