Cataract is the most common reason of loss of vision for people at the age of 40 and above and the main cause of blindness around the world. There are 3 kinds of cataracts namely, the subcapsular cataract, nuclear cataract and the cortical cataract. Our lens is made up of protein and water. As we get old, the protein would tend to clump up and would start to form a small cloud in the lens which would eventually grow larger causing the formation of cataracts.
