14.A 90 kg quarterback gets tackled by being hit by a 120 kg lineman backwards
quester [9]

The acceleration of the quarterback and the lineman is 5.55m/s² and 4.16m/s² respectively in the same direction.

As, we know, the 120 Kg lineman is moving with a force of 500N.

His net acceleration will be in the same direction as his motion.

It is already known that, If M is the mass of the body and a is the acceleration of the body, then the force F on the body can be calculated by using the formula,

F = Ma.

The weight of the quarterback is 90 Kg. He is being hit by a force of 500N.

So, the acceleration can be calculated using the formula,

500N = 90kg x a

a = 5.55 m/s².

Now, the weight if the lineman is 120kg, the force applied by him is 500N.

So, from the formula, his acceleration A will be,

500N = 120Kg x A

A = 4.16 m/s².

both of them will have acceleration in the same direction,

A ball is thrown upward with a speed of 40 m/s. Approximately how much time does it take the ball to travel from the release loc
zvonat [6]

I'm going to assume that this gripping drama takes place on planet Earth, where the acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s².  The solutions would be completely different if the same scenario were to play out in other places.

A ball is thrown upward with a speed of 40 m/s.  Gravity decreases its upward speed (increases its downward speed) by 9.8 m/s every second.

So, the ball reaches its highest point after (40 m/s)/(9.8 m/s²) = <em>4.08 seconds</em>. At that point, it runs out of upward gas, and begins falling.

Just like so many other aspects of life, the downward fall is an exact "mirror image" of the upward trip.  After another 4.08 seconds, the ball has returned to the height of the hand which flung it.  In total, the ball is in the air for <em>8.16 seconds</em> up and down.

A cake is removed from a 350◦F oven and placed on a cooling rack in a 70◦F room. After 30 minutes the cake is 200◦F. When will i
galben [10]

Answer:

350 F to 100 F it take approx 87.33 min

Explanation:

given data

oven = 350◦F

cooling rack = 70◦F

time = 30 min

cake = 200◦F

solution

we apply here Newtons law of cooling

\frac{dT}{dt} = -k(T-Ta)

\frac{dy}{dt} = \frac{d}{dt} (T(t) -Ta)

= \frac{dT}{dt} -\frac{dTa}{dt} =\frac{dT}{dt} = -k(T-Ta)

-ky \frac{dy}{dt} = -ky

T(t) -Ta = (To -Ta) e^{-kt} T(t) = Ta+ (To -Ta)  e^{-kt}

put her value for time 30 min and T(t) = 200◦F and To =350◦F  and Ta = 70◦F

so here

200 = 70 + ( 350 - 70 ) e^{-k30}

k = 0.025575

so here for  T(t) = 100F

100 = 70 + ( 350 - 70 ) e^{-0.025575*t}

time = 87.33 min

so here 350 F to 100 F it take approx 87.33 min
