Answer: I suggest that your friend be available with the extra backpack.

Explanation:

The sentence that has the correct verb mood usage is the third sentence ''I suggest that your friend be available with the extra backpack''. Verbs usually have to agree with the subject or object in a sentence, it also has to agree with number, plural and singular forms as well.

The first sentence ''Your backpack was being full of clothes'' does not have the correct grammatical subject verb agreement. The sentence can either be written as ''Your backpack was full of clothes'', showing past tense or ''Your backpack is being filled with clothes'' showing present continues tense.

The second sentence ''If we had another backpack, we were going to carry more food'' has 2 clauses that do not agree based on the subject, object verb agreement. The sentence can be written as thus; ''If we had another backpack, we would have carried more food'' or ''We  were going to carry more food, if we had another backpack''. Changing the clauses makes the subject and verb agree.

Read the passage from An Ecclesiastical History of the English People, Book I, excerpted from "The Arrival in Kent of the missionaries By Pope Gregory the Great."

Categorize the new behavior of recently converted Britons.

As soon as they entered the dwelling place assigned them, they began to imitate the course of life practiced in the primitive church: applying themselves to frequent prayer, watching, and fasting; preaching the word of life to as many as they could; despising all worldly things, as not belonging to them; receiving only their necessary food from those they taught; living in all respects conformably to what they prescribed to others, and being always disposed to suffer any adversity, and even to die for that truth which they preached. In short, several believed and were baptized, admiring the simplicity of their innocent life and the sweetness of their heavenly doctrine.

There was on the east side of the city a church dedicated to St. Martin, built whilst the Romans were still in the island, wherein the queen, who, as has been said before, was a Christian, used to pray. In this they first began to meet, to sing, to pray, to say mass, to preach and to baptize, till the king, being converted to the faith, allowed them to preach openly and to build or repair churches in all places.

A. inappropriate

B. sinful

C. pious

D. secular

Answer:

C. pious

Explanation:

From this passage, the behavior of the recently converted Britons can be described as pious because it is described that after they had been converted, they began to imitate the life practiced in the primitive church as they began to pray frequently, watch, fast and pray, preaching, despising worldly things and even ready to die for the truth which they preached.

Because of their actions, many people believed and became baptized because they admired their simple life and the sweetness of their doctrine.
