The Great Migration was the movement of about six million of African Americans from rural areas of the Southern states of the United States America to urban areas in the Northern states. This event held between 1916 and 1970. It occurred two times i. e , first was before the Great Depression and the second was occur after the Great Depression. This migration held in search of higher wages that was available in industrial jobs and better social and political opportunities in the northern states.
