When you write out decimals, you use words that end with 'ths'. And you use the smallest digit's place to name the whole decimal.
For example,
.1 = one-tenths .25= twenty hundreths .345= three hundred and forty five thousandths
9.753= Nine and seven hundred fifty-three thousandths.
