Bonjour,

En 1935, une véritable délégation administrative est venue  examiner la forêt naturelle. On a  prononçé beaucoup de paroles inutiles. On a décidé de faire quelque chose et, heureusement, on n'a rien  fait , car il était impossible de n'être pas subjugué par la beauté de ces jeunes arbres en pleine santé. Et elle a exerçé son pouvoir de séduction sur le député lui-même, J'avais un ami parmi les capitaines forestiers qui était de la délégation. Je lu ai expliqué le mystère. Un jour de la semaine d'après, nous  sommes allés   tous les deux à la recherche d'Elzéard Bouffier. Nous l'avons trouvé   en plein travail. Ce capitaine forestier n'était pas mon ami pour rien. Il connaissait la valeur des choses. Il a su rester silencieux. J'ai offert  les quelques oeufs que j'avais apportés en présent. Nous avons partagé notre casse-croûte en trois et quelques heures sont passées  dans la contemplation muette du paysage.
