It is known to have a darker side than Dark Romanticism, but still leaves heavy impacts. While both are very memorable genres of literature, gothic has left an impact. Well known novels being Frankenstein and Dracula. Ask any person and they will say they know of these stories through their own readings!

This would be absolutely false. Periodicals and novels became less popular as the more powerful middle class began to read is a false statement. Just because more people began reading that doesn't change if people like something or whether a novel or periodical remains popular.
