Answer:

Evolution can also occur as a result of genes being transferred from one population to another. This gene flow occurs when there is migration. The loss or addition of people can easily change gene pool frequencies even if there are no other evolutionary mechanisms operating. Also, the effect of gene flow is to reduce genetic differences between populations, thereby preventing or delaying the evolution of the populations in different geographical areas into separate species of the pathogen. Gene flow and natural selection are two central, and usually opposing, evolutionary forces: gene flow distributes, homogenizes, and maintains genetic variation that can act as the 'stuff of evolution', while natural selection reduces genetic variation to the variants that favor survival and reproduction

Explanation:

In biology, evolution is the change in the inherited traits of a population from generation to generation. Evolution occurs when these heritable differences become more common or rare in a population, either non-randomly through natural selection or randomly through genetic drift.

The frequency of alleles of importance in a population is affected by gene flow from other populations. The effect of gene flow is to reduce genetic differences between populations, thereby preventing or delaying the evolution of the populations in different geographical areas into separate species of the pathogen.

this shows that during sexual reprouduction u will get differnt genes from differnt parents and more and more combos so the more evolution there will be. and the more changes in the way traits and features r made and loks.

Please explain in your own words how a nebula forms into a star, using the terms: Mass, Gravity, Pressure, Temperature, Nuclear
jonny [76]
Once massive stars reach the red giant phase, the core temperature continues to increase as carbon atoms are formed from the fusion of helium atoms. Gravity continues to pull together the carbon atoms in the core until the temperature reaches 600,000,000 degrees Celsius. At this temperature, carbon atoms form heavy elements such as oxygen and nitrogen. The fusion and production of heavy elements continues until iron starts to form. At this point, fusion stops and the iron atoms start to absorb energy. This energy is eventually released in a powerful explosion called a supernova. A supernova can light the sky up for weeks. The temperature in a supernova can reach 1,000,000,000 degrees Celsius. This high temperature can lead to the production of new elements which may appear in the new nebula that results after the supernova explosion. The core of a massive star that is 1.5 to 4 times as massive as our Sun ends up as a neutron star after the supernova. Neutron stars spin rapidly giving off radio waves. If the radio waves appear to be emitted in pulses (due to the star's spin), these neutron stars are called pulsars. The core of a massive star that has 10 or more times the mass of our Sun remains massive after the supernova. No nuclear fusion is taking place to support the core, so it is swallowed by its own gravity. It has now become a black hole which readily swallows any matter and energy that comes too near it. Some black holes have companion stars whose gases they pull off. As the gases are pulled down into the black hole, they heat up and give off energy in the form of X-rays. Black holes are detected by the X-rays which are given off as matter falls down into the hole.

The political action surrounding the location of federal nuclear waste dump sites in the US, can best be described as having a concentrated costs and widely dispersed benefits.

  • Politics is a category of activities that are related to group decision-making or other types of power dynamics between people, such as the allocation of resources or status.
  • The federal government has been forced to pay utility companies to keep its hazardous nuclear waste since it has not built a permanent depository. The majority of nuclear waste is currently kept in dry casks on the grounds of active and retired nuclear power stations around the nation.
  • The Yucca Mountain project's goals are to meet the requirements of the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 and provide a national repository for high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.
