In 'The Harvest gypsies', how does the Steinbeck use word choice to convey his point of view about migrant farm workers?
LuckyWell [14K]

Steinbeck uses the word choice to help add details to his tone of the article. He feels that migrant workers are often overlooked for the work that they do. By adding word choices such as ...(find your own examples of the word choice)... Steinbeck is able to convince the reader to feel a certain way about these migrant workers and add to his original point. Don't copy exactly what I said please, but hope that makes sense ;)

I need three quotes that show Macbeth is talking to banquo?
strojnjashka [21]

The quotes are the following:

1. Act 1, Scene 1

After their encounter with the three witches, best friends Macbeth and Banquo talk about their future as told by the witches: Macbeth will be king and Banquo's descendants will be kings as well.

MACBETH

Your children shall be kings.

BANQUO

You shall be king.

MACBETH

And thane of Cawdor too: went it not so?

BANQUO

To the selfsame tune and words.

2. Act 2, Scene 1

Before murdering Duncan, Macbeth meets Banquo, who tells him he dreamt about the three witches and suggests they have told Macbeth some truth. Macbeth lies and replies he has not thought about them, but as soon as he is alone he heads to the king's chamber.

BANQUO

All's well.

I dreamt last night of the three weird sisters:

To you they have show'd some truth.

MACBETH

I think not of them:

Yet, when we can entreat an hour to serve,

We would spend it in some words upon that business,

If you would grant the time.

BANQUO

At your kind'st leisure.

3. Act 3, Scene 1

Macbeth invites Banquo to a fancy banquet as his guest of honor. Although Banquo has duties with his son in the afternoon, he promises to attend the feast. With this information, Macbeth then plans to kill both. The reason is, after the witches' prediction, Banquo's noble and honest character and his son Fleance are a threat to the throne.

MACBETH

To-night we hold a solemn supper sir,

And I'll request your presence.

BANQUO

Let your highness

Command upon me; to the which my duties

Are with a most indissoluble tie

For ever knit.

MACBETH

Ride you this afternoon?

BANQUO

Ay, my good lord.

MACBETH

We should have else desired your good advice,

Which still hath been both grave and prosperous,

In this day's council; but we'll take to-morrow.

Is't far you ride?

BANQUO

As far, my lord, as will fill up the time

'Twixt this and supper: go not my horse the better,

I must become a borrower of the night

For a dark hour or twain.

MACBETH

Fail not our feast.

BANQUO

My lord, I will not.

MACBETH

We hear, our bloody cousins are bestow'd

In England and in Ireland, not confessing

Their cruel parricide, filling their hearers

With strange invention: but of that to-morrow,

When therewithal we shall have cause of state

Craving us jointly. Hie you to horse: adieu,

Till you return at night. Goes Fleance with you?

BANQUO

Ay, my good lord: our time does call upon 's.

MACBETH

I wish your horses swift and sure of foot;

And so I do commend you to their backs. Farewell.

School Uniforms
Brut [27]

Answer:

C. An internet blog

Explanation:

This passage is trying to convince someone that school uniforms are a good thing. A diary entry is usually is used to record thoughts however the author would not need to convince themselves of something and diaries are to the self writing. A formal speech is to inform the listener about something not convincing. And lastly, an autobiography is about someones life. This means C is the correct choice. Hope this helps and is right! Good luck on the assignment!
