How did European nations compete for power in the years before World War I?
Korolek [52]
Europeans competed for power either through acquisition of colonies or building up its industries. When their industries were strong, they would strengthen their armies as well.  If that was not enough they would form alliances with other countries to protect their interest.

This is also know as the death match in post war historiography,Described as the football matches played under  German Occupation.

The German team (Flakelf)  with about 2,000  spectators in attendance played against the FC start of Ukraine. This was 2nd.,August 1942.

The stats defeated the German team

The Germans Murdered  Dynamo players in the match,in revenge for defeating the Germans. while there were  few survivors. Dogs was used to intimidate the players, and the referee manipulated the game to favour the Germans. These were the Russian accounts.

However, eyewitness account showed that, 5 players were actually murdered and  3 of these was many years after the match, 9 player were arrested about 9 days  after the match And that there was no intimidation by the Germans or manipulation by   the referee., Besides the red  Jersey worn by the FC start were given by the Germans, and did not serve as symbol of communism.
