Answer:

a) distance traveled is 16 miles.

b) distance traveled is 40 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed is a scalar quantity which describe the rate of distance moved with time.

i.e speed = \frac{distance}{time}

Given that: distance = 2 1/3 miles = \frac{7}{3} miles, time = 3 1/2 minutes = \frac{7}{2} minutes.

Then;

speed = \frac{7}{3} ÷ \frac{7}{2}

          = \frac{7}{3} x \frac{2}{7}

          = \frac{2}{3}

The car's steady speed is 0.67 miles per minute.

a) when the time is 24 minutes, the distance covered can be determine by:

distance = speed x time

              = \frac{2}{3} x 24

              = 16

distance traveled is 16 miles.

b) When the time is 1 hour (60 minutes), the distance traveled can be determined by:

distance = speed x time

              = \frac{2}{3} x 60

              = 40

distance traveled is 40 miles.

Line m passes through the points (-2,7) and (4,-5), as shown below. Which of the following could be the equation of a line that
True [87]

Slope-intercept form:  y = mx + b

(m is the slope, b is the y-intercept or the y value when x = 0 --> (0, y) or the point where the line crosses through the y-axis)

For lines to be parallel, they need to have the same slope.

To find the slope (m), use the slope formula:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}      And plug in the two points

(-2, 7) = (x₁, y₁)

(4, -5) = (x₂, y₂)

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

m=\frac{-5-7}{4-(-2)}   (two negative signs cancel each other out and become positive)

m=\frac{-5-7}{4+2}

m=\frac{-12}{6}     Simplify the fraction

m = -2

The slope is -2, so the parallel line's slope is also -2.

Your answer is C

20 is 60% of what number
Oxana [17]
33.33? im not sure, but you do a/b=p/100. p is the percent, a is the part of the whole number, b. so the equation would be 20/b=60/100. then you do cross multiplication (60b=2000) then you divide.

How do you know if the factors will have negatives or positives in them?
harina [27]

When using factoring by grouping, the replacement terms will both have the same sign of the original middle term. If the last term is negative, then the signs of the factors will have one of each sign with the “stronger” number (the larger absolute value) matching the middle term. hope this helps
