The Texas Annexation was the 1845 incorporation of the Republic of Texas into the United States of America, which was admitted to the Union as the 28th state on December 29, 1845.
The Republic of Texas declared independence from the Republic of Mexico on March 2, 1836. At the time the vast majority of the Texian population favored the annexation of the Republic by the United States. The leadership of both major U.S. political parties, the Democrats and the Whigs, opposed the introduction of Texas, a vast slave-holding region, into the volatile political climate of the pro- and anti-slavery sectional controversies in Congress. Moreover, they wished to avoid a war with Mexico, whose government refused to acknowledge the sovereignty of its rebellious northern province. With Texas's economic fortunes declining by the early 1840s, the President of the Texas Republic, Sam Houston, arranged talks with Mexico to explore the possibility of securing official recognition of independence, with the United Kingdom mediating.

Answer:
“A single King had complete control over the Mayan government” describes how the Maya civilization was governed.
Explanation:
Maya civilization was the old American civilization developed by the indigenous people of Mesoamerica and is well-known for its art, mathematics, architecture, logosyllabic script and astronomical system.
The political system during the Maya civilization was quite decentralized as there were many city-states which were governed by the rulers or heads and they were intern controlled by the kings.
The whole authority was given to the king as they believed that kings got ruled by the god will. There were no armies and the religious practises were part and parcel of the life of the people at that time.
The Bill of Rights should explain that just because you have "Freedom of Speech", that doesn't mean that you should use that freedom to put down or demean others. For too long, people who want to put others down have been able to hide behind the first ammendment, saying that they can say whatever they feel like because they have the freedom to do so. That is not acceptable. To put it simply, I once had a teacher tell me, "Your freedom of speech ends when it imposes on someone else's right to peace and happiness."
Also, those with a personality-based mental illness shouldn't be allowed to have a gun. I am not hating on people with mental illnesses, as I have about 20, but many people who end up shooting up schools and things like that have a mental illness.
