The following is a special trapezoid. Given WX is parallel to ZY. Which of the following is also true about trapezoid WXYZ?

Answer:

∠Z and ∠W are supplementary

Step-by-step explanation:

In the diagram given showing a special trapezoid, WX and ZY are two opposite sides that are parallel to each other.

Thus, consecutive angles would be supplementary.

Therefore, the only correct option that is true is:

∠Z and ∠W are supplementary.

The test options are incorrect as consecutive angles are not complementary and they are not in themselves congruent to each other.

The formula for the area of a circle is A = πr^2

Since we know the length of the square is 7cm and the circle fills the full length, 7cm is the diameter.

To get the radius you divide the diameter by 2.

7/2 = 3.5

So, your radius is 3.5.

Now your formula looks like this: A = π(3.5)^2

Next you would square 3.5 because (3.5)^2 means to multiply 3.5 by 3.5

3.5^2 = 12.25

Now, you just multiply 12.25 by the approximate version of pi, which is 3.14.

12.25*3.14 = 38.465

Now, that you have the area of the circle, you subtract it from the area of the square.

If you already haven't figured out the area of the square it is 49 cm.

This is because the formula for the area of a square is A = bh or A = lw

Since the length (l) or base (b) is 7, we know that the other sides are 7 because squares have equal sides.

So now we subtract 38.465 from 49 and we get 10.535 which rounds to 10.54

So, your final answer is D. 10.54 cm^2

Hope this helps!

Im doing decimals greatest to least and i need help with number 12 and 13
erma4kov [3.2K]

(I know there isnt any real problem here to solve, but heres a tip on how to solve greatest to least with decimal problems)

1. Just because a number looks big, doesn't mean it is big

Example: 1.00000000000001 < 1.1

just look at the numbers ^ and dont just hastily read it over assuming that 1.1 is smaller because it "has less digits"

2. Negative numbers are... opposite. and they are less than positive numbers

-3.4 > -4.1

Why is this? Well, if you look on a line, with the point 0 in the middle, you can see that -3.4 is not as far away from 0 as -4.1 is. So the idea is to apply opposite logic for negative numbers

I hope these tips helped!! :D

2 hours after a freight train leaves delhi a passenger train leaves the same station traveling in the same direction at an avera
insens350 [35]

The average speed of the freight train was 10.67 km/hr.

What is average speed?

The average speed is the total distance traveled by the object in a particular time interval.

Now it is given that,

Average speed of the passenger train = 16 km/hr

Time taken by passenger train to overtake the freight train = 4 hours

So, the distance between two trains = Average speed of the passenger train * Time taken by passenger train overtake the freight train

⇒ distance between two trains = 16 * 4 = 64 km

Thus, Distance to be covered by freight train = 64 km

Since, freight train leaves the same station in the same direction after 2 hours.

Hence, total time taken to cover 64 km by freight train = 2 + 4

                                                                                             = 6 hours

⇒ Average speed of the freight train = Distance covered by freight train/total time taken to cover 64 km

⇒ Average speed of the freight train = 64/6 km/hr

⇒ Average speed of the freight train = 32/3 km/hr

or, Average speed of the freight train = 10.67 km/hr

Thus, the average speed of the freight train was 10.67 km/hr.
