LOTS OF POINTS!?!?!Where does the CO2 in the atmosphere come from?
allochka39001 [22]

Answer:

Carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere naturally when organisms respire or decompose (decay), carbonate rocks are weathered, forest fires occur, and volcanoes erupt. Carbon dioxide is also added to the atmosphere through human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels and forests and the production of cement.

What contributes to cell membrane fluidity? Proteins and lipids exist as separate but loosely attached molecules that can move a
Charra [1.4K]

Answer:

Proteins and lipids exist as separate but loosely attached molecules that can move around

Explanation:

Cell membranes are mainly composed of lipids, proteins, and also carbohydrates. Phospholipids are the most abundant type of lipid and the main constituent of the cell membranes. Membrane proteins are divided into two types according to their interactions with the cell membrane: 1-integral (intrinsic) and peripheral (extrinsic) proteins. These peripheral proteins are loosely attached by ionic bonds or calcium bridges with the phosphate heads of the phospholipids; whereas integral membrane proteins contain side chains that interact with fatty acyl groups of the phospholipids. Cell membrane fluidity indicates how easily lipids (e.g., phospholipids and cholesterol) and proteins (e.g., intrinsic proteins) diffuse laterally in the cell membrane. This fluidity is affected by the amount of cholesterol, temperature, and the ratio of unsaturated to saturated fatty acids. Saturated fatty acids have no double bonds in the hydrocarbon chain, whereas unsaturated fatty acids have at least one double bond (these double bonds increase fluidity). Moreover, higher temperatures increase membrane fluidity, whereas cholesterol molecules function to regulate membrane fluidity: at high temperatures cholesterol molecules stabilize the membrane, whereas at low temperatures intercalate between phospholipids, thereby preventing them from clustering together.

A group of scientists are observing a new found cell. They want to classify it as either a prokaryotic cell or a eukaryotic cell
valkas [14]
  • The question can be solved by using the difference between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell.
  • Prokaryotic cell does not have a well defined nucleus. The nuclear material lies naked in the cytoplasm. It is known as nucleoid. While, eukaryotic cell has a well defined nucleus with a nuclear membrane.
  • Prokaryotic cell has a single chromosome while eukaryotic cell has more than one chromosome.
  • Finally, prokaryotic cell do not have membrane-bound cell organelles while eukaryotic cell have membrane-bound cell organelles.

Hope you could get an idea from here.

kow [346]

Answer:

The difference in the given case indicates that the results are reliable but not accurate. Precision is the tendency of an apparatus to provide repeatable quantities, that is, inaccuracies are minor. The application of standard deviation is generally used as a precision error.

Accuracy refers to the part of an apparatus that provides measures whose average is nearer to the accurate value. It is the reproducibility of an apparatus.
