What I think you need to do though is draw your eight lines and measure them to the nearest quarter inch, and then fill out a plot like the one I've attached, except using numbers 1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, and 3. Then just mark where the lines you drew fit into the plot.
