Which equation represents the graphed function?

y = -2x + 3

in the equation y = mx + b, the m represents the slope and b represents the y-intercept

remember that slope is rise over run:

 starting from the point (1, 1) you rise 2 up and go over left 1 to reach the second point shown (0, 3).

 add a negative sign to show the negative downward slope, and the m in the equation would be -2

the y-intercept is just where the line hits the y-axis, or when the x in the ordered pair is 0. In this graph, one of the points given is (0, 3) so 3 is the y intercept

just plug all that into y = mx + b

m, the slope, is -2 and b, the y- intercept, is 3.

y = -2x + 3 is your answer

Simplify 2a^2b^3 (4a^2 + 3ab^2 - ab) =?
stellarik [79]

The correct answer is D.D. 8a^4b^3 + 6a^3b^5 - 2a^3b^4

You can tell this by the lead term alone. When you mutliply the term outside to the lead term, D is the only one that has that term.

2a^2b^3*4a^2 = 8a^4b^3

D. 8a^4b^3 + 6a^3b^5 - 2a^3b^4

Which side lengths form a right triangle?
Tanya [424]

The side lengths that forms a right triangle are as follows:

 • 11, 13 √290
 • 7, 24, 25

What is a right angle triangle?

A right angle triangle has one of its angle as 90 degrees. The sides of the triangle follows Pythagoras theorem.

Therefore,

c² = a² + b²

where

 • a and b are the legs
 • c is the hypotenuse

The hypotenuse is the longest side of the right triangle.

Therefore, the side lengths that forms a right triangle are as follows:

 • 11, 13 √290
 • 7, 24, 25

Find all solutions to the equation equation (x - 1)^2 = -4.
tatuchka [14]

Answer:

x = 1±2i

Step-by-step explanation:

(x - 1)^2 = -4.

Take the square root of each side

sqrt( (x - 1)^2) = sqrt(-4)

Sqrt(ab) = sqrt(a)sqrt(b)

We know the sqrt(4) = 2 and the sqrt(-1) = ±i

x-1 = ±2i

Add 1 to each side

x-1+1 = 1±2i

x = 1±2i
