An initial remark: when working with percents, it can be good to remember that the percent sign is simply another way of denoting hundredths. 40% and 40/100 are identical values; they just have different representations.

With that in mind, having knowledge of what taking 10% of something means is an excellent stepping stone when dealing with taking some multiple of 10%, like the 40% in this problem. When we take 10% of something, that's the same thing as saying we're taking 10/100 of it, which is again the same thing as saying we're taking 1/10 of it, or dividing it by 10. Let's use that fact as a jumping-off point for this problem.

10% of 920 cups is 920/10, or 92 cups. Since 40% = 10% x 4, all we need to do to obtain our answer is multiply that 92 by 4, obtaining an answer of 92 x 4 = 368 cups.

Sam wants to leave an 18% tip for his dinner. The bill is for $23.50. Which equation could be used to find the total amount that
lora16 [44]

Answer:

(0.18 x 23.50) + 23.50

Step-by-step explanation:

First, find the percentage of 23.50 (equation in the parenthesis). 18% is equivalent to 0.18. Then, you add that to 23.50. That's the total amount Sam should pay. I hope this makes sense.

30 POINTS WILL MARK BRAINLIEST!!
Ronch [10]

The coefficient of x needs to be 2.

The current coefficient is 2/5.

To eliminate the 5 in the denominator, we can multiply the equation by 5.

We get

2x + 30y = - 50

Now, to solve the equations, all we need to do is add them.

Hope this helps!

A. 12 + 4x = 6x + 10 – 2x
GalinKa [24]

An equation has infinitely many solutions if it can be manipulated all the way to an identity (i.e. an equality where the right and left hand side are the same). We have:

A) 12+4x=6x+10-2x \iff 12+4x=10+4x \iff 12=10

which is impossible

B) 5x+14-4x=23+x-9 \iff x+14 = x+14

which is an equality

C) x+9-0.8x=5.2x+17-8\iff 0.2x+9=5.2x+9 \iff 0.2x=5.2x\iff x=0

which has a unique solution

D) 4x-2x=20 \iff 2x=20 \iff x=10

which has a unique solution

What is the scale factor from ALMN to AOPQ?
Nitella [24]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

There 2 ways to interpret this problem.

From the info given:

These two triangles are congruent by SSS and congruent triangles have congruent or equal side lengths so the answer have to be 1.

If the triangles are similar, the side lengths form a proportion of that

\frac{3}{3}   = \frac{3}{3}

So the ratio or scale factor is 1.

PLEASE HELP!!!!IM STUCK
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

Adjacent angles and not a linear pair

Step-by-step explanation:

They are adjacent because they are located right next to each other and share a common side.  They aren't linear because both angles don't sit on a straight line by themselves.  <DGB is also on that line; therefore, <AGE and <EGD and <DGB would add up to 180 degrees.
