Answer:

If you were to venture there without any gear, you would survive for less than 2 minutes, provided that you held your breath! Visiting Venus would be like landing inside of an oven. The temperature on its surface is approximately 400C. Its surface pressure is also about 90 times greater than that of Earth.

Your question is confusing because it is past-tense. Please clarify more clearly. Thanks!

(1) As a child, Barbara tired of playing with baby dolls. (2) At this time, there were no adult-looking dolls on the market. (3)

I would say A or C would fit the role a topic sentence should play. Simply because B doesn't make sense unless given context with A. D doesn't make sense unless given context from A. So because of the lack of context between B and D if put in the first sentence, I would narrow it down to A or C. I'm assuming there is a was in between "Barbara" and "tired" within the first sentence. Hope that helps.

3. Compare the speaker in "Because I could not stop for Death" is somewhat passive.
mariarad [96]

Answer:

Dickinson would probably have been influenced by the people that she socialized with in her early years, the literature her father encouraged her to read, and news of the current events of her time. These factors would have shaped her views and the messages she wanted to communicate about life.

Explanation:

In "I could not stop for death" The speaker is dead. But the even cooler thing is that we don't know this for sure until the last stanza. So the speaker is a ghost or spirit thinking back to the day of her death. She's actually pretty calm about it too.
