Nate downloaded a free virus detection program, which reported that his computer is infected with a virus. The editors of a tech

magazine reviewed the effectiveness of the free program by running it on 500 computers, with 8% of those computers known to be virus-infected. Their findings are summarized in the two-way table. Virus Reported Virus not Reported Infected 28 12 Not Infected 94 366 Which statement is supported by the data? A. The magazine's review suggests Nate should trust the program's report because the probability that the scan result is a false positive is only 7.11%. B. The magazine's review suggests Nate should use a different detection program because the probability that the scan result is a false positive is 77.05%. C. The magazine's review suggests Nate should use a different detection program because the probability that the scan result is a false positive is 22.95%. D. The magazine's review suggests Nate should use a different detection program because the probability that the scan result is a false positive is 92.89%.

From the question we are told that:

Sample size n=500

Know Virus infection r=8\%

The data can be represented in the Table below a

\begin{tabular}{lllll}S/N          & Reported & Not reported & Total \\Infected     & 28       & 12   &   40   \\Not Infected & 28       & 36&460\\Total &122&378&500\\\end{table}

Therefore the False Positive can be Mathematically represented as

FP=\frac{94}{122}

FP=0.7705

FP=77.05\%

In conclusion we can say that The magazine's review suggests Nate should use a different detection program because the probability that the scan result is a false positive is 77.05%

Therefore

Option B is correct

5x2y-5x2+3yx2-3y2+x2-y2+8xy2-3y2

First Collect like terms:
5x x 2y, +3x x 2,and +8xy x 2

16x x 2y -4x x 2 - 4y x 2—> Multiply the numbers:

Multiply the numbers 16 x 2

16 x 2 = 32

Now multiply the numbers 4 x 2

4 x 2 = 8

Now Multiply the numbers 4 x 2 again

4 x 2 = 8

= 32xy - 8x- 8y

Factor 8 from the expression

Final Answer:
8(4xy-x-y)

Sample Size Sample average Sample SD
Pani-rosa [81]

Answer:

b. Null: The population average VDAS score for early birds is the same as the population average VDAS score for night owls.

Alt: The population average VDAS scores are different for the two groups.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

The above data

Required

Determine the null and alternate hypothesis

When looking out for the null hypothesis, only options with equality statements or equal sign should be selected as the null hypothesis.

i.e. statements like "equal to", "the same as", etc.

The alternate hypothesis will then contain inequalities or inequality statements

From the list of options, only option (b) is correct.

The population of a city was 572,000 in 2010. In the 2000 census the population was 607,000. What was the rate of decrease of th
kramer

Answer:

6%

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this you need to subtract 607000 by 572000 to see how many people in the population decreased.

607,000- 572,000= 35,000

Then you put 35,000 over 607,000

also you need x over 100

35000/607,000 x/100

Then do cross product property

35,000*100=3,500,000

607,000* x= 607,000x

3,500,000= 607,000x

Then do 3,500,000 divided by 607,000

You get 5.76%

Round to the nearest percent and get 6%
