The Shay’s Rebellion was good for the United States. It showed the weakness of the Articles of Confederation by the government and it strengthened the federal government. The weakness it showed from Congress were how the federal government could not form a military or draft due to money because they did not have the ability enforce taxes upon citizens. Congress had no power to raise money. The Massachusetts legislature enacted laws easing the economic condition of debtors.
