Complete question is;

Jane is training for a triathlon. After swimming a few laps, she leaves the health club and bikes 16 miles south. She then runs 12 miles west. Her trainer bikes from the health club to meet jane at the end of her run. Use the pythagorean theorem to write an equation for the distance janes trainer bikes

Answer:

x = √(12² + 16²)

Step-by-step explanation:

We are told that;

She bikes from health club to South = 16 miles

From South to West = 12 miles

Her trainer bikes from the health club to meet her at the end which is west.

I have attached a diagram showing this movement in form of a triangle.

From the diagram I attached, I have depicted the distance the trainer bikes as x.

Using pythagoras theorem;

x² = 12² + 16²

x = √(12² + 16²)

This question it's about PEMDAS. This lesson it's about order of operation. p-parenthesis, e-exponents, m-multiply, d-divide, a-add, and s-subtract. It can must go left to right. multiply by the numbers. product it's going to be multiply by the numbers, decimals, fractions, factors, and multiples.

calculate exponents first.

10⁰=1

then multiply left to right.

1*0.23=0.23

=0.23

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Melissa is packing up her bedroom before she leaves for college her closet is 185 ft.³ if the boxes she is using or 4 1/2 feet l
drek231 [11]

Answer:

5 Boxes

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume is Length * width * height

1 box = 4.5* 2 *4= 36

Each box is 36 cubic feet. Now divide the closet size by box size

185 cubic feet/36 cubic feet per box = 5.138

Since you can't have .138 of a box, and rounding up to 6 boxes is too much, the closet will hold 5 boxes (with .138 cubic feet left over).
