We have to divide 48 by 3 using distributive property.

Division using distributive property is used as it is much easier and accurate.

For dividing 48 by 3, we split first 48 as a multiple of 3 and 10

i.e. 48 = 30+18

Now divide again 18 as 3x5 +3

i.e. 48 = 30+15+3

By distributive property we have 48/3 = (30+15+3)/3 =30/3 +15/3 +3/3

Now easier to calclate this

30/3 = 10 : 15/3 =5 and 3/3 =1

Hence 48/3 = 10+5+1=16

<u>Answer:</u>

16

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

The distributive property for division simply means that you can split the quantity of the given number into smaller chunks that are easier to divide.

Here in this case, we are to divide 48 by 3 so we will split 48 into numbers that are easily divisible by 3:

48 ---> 30 + 18

30 and 18 can be further be split into ---> (15 + 15) + (15 + 3)

Dividing these numbers by 3 to get:

\frac{15}{3} +\frac{15}{3}+ \frac{15}{3} +\frac{3}{3} = 5+5+5+1=16

The graph below shows the value of Edna's profits f(t), in dollars, after t months:
umka21 [38]
Since we know that the graph of our quadratic function has x-intercepts at (6,0) and (18,0), x=6 and x=18 are the zeroes of our quadratic. To find our quadratic we are going to factor each zero backwards and multiply them:
x=6
x-6=0
x=18
x-18=0

(x-6)(x-18)=x^{2}-6x-18x+108
=x^{2}-24x+108

Now that we have our quadratic function, we are going to use the average formula: m= \frac{f(9)-f(3)}{9-3}
where
f(9) is the function evaluated at  the <span>9th month
</span>f(3) is the function evaluated at the 3rd month

m= \frac{f(9)-f(3)}{9-3}
m= \frac{[9^{2}-24(9)+108]-[3^{2}-24(3)+108]}{9-3}
m= \frac{-27-45}{6}
m= \frac{-72}{6}
m=-12

We can conclude that the closest approximate average rate of change for Edna's profits from the 3rd month to the 9th month is: <span>B. −11.63 dollars per month.</span>

Reina's family is taking a road trip. Their car can travel no more than 304 miles without needing to refill the gas tank. They h
Natalka [10]

Solving the inequality, it is found that the correct interpretation of the solution is:

Reina's family can drive 83 more miles before they need to refill the gas tank.

The amount x of miles they can still travel is modeled by the following inequality:

221 + x \leq 304

To solve it, we treat it similarly to an equality, hence:

x \leq 304 - 221

x \leq 83

Hence:

Reina's family can drive 83 more miles before they need to refill the gas tank.
