How did social darwinists justify expansion?
puteri [66]

The correct answer is survival of the fittest resulted in strong nations controlling weak ones.

Social Darwinism is the belief that the strongest and most fit individuals will have success while those with less favorable characteristics will struggle. This was based on Charles Darwin's book Origin of Species. Even though the book was studying natural selection in terms of physical characteristics of birds, many people applied this concept to humanity.

This includes people who were in favor of American imperialism. These individuals who wanted the US to expand saw it as natural, as the weaker countries/regions the US would come to control were not fit for self rule. This would result in the US gaining territories like Guam, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

In what ways to citizens participate in a political system? Consider conventional methods, non-conventional methods, and civil d
Neporo4naja [7]

The United States is a democratic republic. This system of governance allows U.S. citizens to engage directly in political life through attempting to influence the public policies of their government. This allows different individuals and groups to choose various forms of action for different purposes. Conventional strategies like voting, running for office, making donations to candidates, or writing members of Congress are common and widely accepted. Unconventional participation is less widely accepted and often controversial. It involves using strategies like marching, boycotting, refusing to obey laws, or protesting in general. At different times in the nation’s history, individuals and groups have succeeded or failed using both forms of participation
